Hello! I’m Gemma, I’m a Holistic Career Coach.

I’m here to help you get unstuck, find clarity on where you want to go and take brave, actionable steps towards it.

With eleven years working as a knitwear designer, I’ve relocated four times and backpacked through various countries, often solo.

I understand that change can feel big and scary!

I also know that by working through it, you can find a sense of clarity, purpose and fulfilment.

Being in the wrong job can leave you feeling
confused, unmotivated, and uncertain.

You lack clarity.  You feel as though there is something else you’re supposed to be doing, but you just can’t put your finger on it.

It’s frustrating. The job you’re in isn’t utilising your strengths and talents. You have so much more to give, but you’re not sure what to do.

You feel like a fake. You’ve got this far in your current career, and yet something still doesn’t feel right.

You’re scared. You feel anxious, stressed and paralysed with uncertainty. You don’t want to make the ‘wrong’ choice and risk the safety of your well-trodden comfort zone.

How can I relate to all of this?
Because I’ve been where you are now.

I felt stuck and I needed some help. I found a wonderful career coach and worked through a well-established programme called Firework™. The step-by-step approach gave me confidence in knowing I was using a tried and tested system, but equally offered a more holistic, alternative approach. I was so inspired by this programme, that I knew I had to incorporate it into my own line of work, and it led me to where I am today.

So, what’s my story?

I started off my independent adult life as a knitwear designer living and working in the cities of London and New York. And I am very grateful for those experiences as they ultimately led me to where I am now. And it was great! Until it wasn’t.

Though, if I’m honest, I knew from the start it wasn’t quite the right fit. Deep down I didn’t feel like my best self in that line of work. But I’d worked my butt off through my degree, schlepped away for free in an internship and continued for a further decade making my way up the ladder.

There were moments along the way where I questioned what I was doing, but I’d block it out. I was committed and there was always the next rung to work towards. Eventually, the rungs ran out.

The elusive question “what am I supposed to be doing?” was now loud and clear, and I had a creeping sense of dread which was overlapping into other areas of my life. I had what looked like many people’s “dream job” – but it wasn’t my dream.

I couldn’t quite see the answer, but I knew for sure it wasn’t in the world of corporate fashion. Burnt-out, unfulfilled and unsure of which direction to take, I did what any sane person would do – I chucked in my ‘great’ job and headed for Central America…

However, on return home, I was uncertain of how to implement what I had learnt during my year of self-discovery and my desires were still hazy and felt unattainable.

With a heavy heart, I went back into corporate fashion…this lasted 8 months. I was deeply unhappy. Something had to change, but I kept coming up against the same blocks that would stop me in my tracks.

These blocks were all inside myself.

I knew I was somehow hindering my progress onto the path I wanted to take, but I was paralysed with uncertainty. So, I sought out a support network to help me slowly move forward in a direction that was more in-line with my true self. This included working with a Career Coach.

It was the best gift I could have given myself.

Now, I want to pay this forward. My intention is to support you in creating a career that brings you fulfilment and offers your best self to the world. To help you manage any anxieties and self-doubt, and find clarity in the direction you want your life to take.
